also accepted with $4000 Pres. Scholarship. Anyone know much about their FA pkg?

I would not expect great things from the FA pkg. Elon has a smaller endowment than most schools of similar size and their rate of alumni giving is low - having to do with how much the school has improved in the past 10 years - most of their alums are younger, etc. Keep in mind that Elon is not a $50,000 school - they have a much lower price than most of the private schools they compete with.

FA is just too hard to predict, so complete your FAFSA, CSS Profile, and Elon forms carefully, and hope for the best. (Look online for advice on FAFSA and CSS, there are mistakes for the unwitting which can be disadvantageous, e.g. your expected summer job earnings, which they do not expect to exceed $1500, so why over-estimate?) We had no idea what to expect, and were very pleasantly surprised, since our EFC was medium high. Having another child in college probably made a difference. Your Presidential Scholarship is probably a good early sign. Have you and parents started working on the FAFSA and CSS? Remember there is usually more aid available for those near the front of the line when funds are still plentiful, so file early. Best of luck!
