Did anyone else get an email from Santa Barbara saying...

Greetings, UCSB Transfer Applicant:

Thank you again for submitting your application to the University of California, Santa Barbara for fall quarter, 2009.

Since December, we have been reading and evaluating more than 10,000 transfer applications to UCSB. On Monday, March 16 at 3 p.m., we will post a portion of our transfer admission decisions on our website - www.admissions.ucsb.edu/applicant. Additional transfer decisions will continue to be posted until May 1.

I remember getting these from schools when applying in high school. The schools that accepted you were the ones that sent them...do you think it's the same from transfer? I don't want to get my hopes up but MONDAY IS SOOO SOON!

Ya, I got it too. Do you guys know what they mean by a portion of the decisions coming out. Is it the most competitive applicants are admitted first, or by major, or by some other system, or is it just random by who they have evaluated so far?

i got it as well. i was thinking all the rejects get it first n the good news is for later. hahaha i’m a bit pessimistic, but oh whales jay kayyyyyyyyy

^^^^ You need to stop moping over SDSU. You will get into most of the UCs of your choice with your 3.6 GPA. It is reasonable to believe they pulled a Yield Protection/Tufts on you. I mean c’mon, most majors didn’t require a 3.0 and you had a 3.6. Get over it and wait for the UCs.

i got rejected by SDSU and Calpoly… GPA 3.75 with major in Business… i feel upset and so worry abt i can’t get into any UC’s… and i didn get this E-mail… that make me more upset…

My friend got into Cal Poly’s Business program with a 2.8 GPA. He was notified last month. I’m telling you all that they’re just trying to maximize admission retention rates and not play any games by possibly overloading on students.

vw_dsg, thank you… idk what happened!! hope i can get into UCSB lo. btw, the counselor in my school told us that we don’t need to sign anything for the TAG for UCSB, it is a paperless process, is that real? is that means if we fit the requirements such as 3.0 GPA etc. then we are guarantee for admission?
