We would like to thank you for your application to and interest in The College
of New Jersey. Your application has undergone an initial reading by our
counseling staff, and we'd like to speak with you about the major you selected
upon submitting your application.

The Psychology major has been inundated with applicants; unfortunately, TCNJ
cannot accommodate the large number of students who wish to major in this
department. It would be a disservice to our students to admit everyone into
this program, as it would take away from some of the reasons TCNJ excels in
higher education: small classes; a high degree of faculty-student interaction;
and a complete absence of teaching assistants. Therefore, we will not be
considering any other Psychology applications for admission to TCNJ.

However, after thoroughly reviewing your academic record and supplemental
application materials, we would like to offer you an opportunity to select a
different academic program. We encourage you to take this change of major
seriously by investigating an alternate area of study that you find exciting,
challenging, and that you will pursue with great passion while here at TCNJ.

Please understand that this is NOT an offer of admission but rather an
opportunity for your application to be re-evaluated in an available academic
area. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best wishes for the
remainder of your senior year.
