Email?

Hello! So I recently applied to UCLA but was not accepted. I just got an email from UC Riverside that states:

"You recently submitted an application for undergraduate admission to one or more University of California campuses. I have had the chance to review your application, and want to congratulate you on a truly outstanding high school career! As a result, I would like to offer you a one time opportunity to add UC Riverside to your UC Application (I’ll waive the $80 application fee, so it’s FREE to you) so you can be considered for admission to UC Riverside for the Fall 2012 term.
Once we receive your application, we will conduct a full review to determine your eligibility to the major of your choice. To be able to review your application, we first need you to let us know that you wish to be considered for admission to UC Riverside by saying YES (see instructions below). Please note that this is not a guarantee of admission but rather an opportunity to be considered for admission to a premier University of California campus"

I didn't apply to this school, but what does this email mean? Are they seriously going to consider my application this late, or is this something else? I'm not 100% thrilled with all the schools I did get in to, so if this school would consider me I would be really excited. My dream was to go to California but I didn't get into my CA schools. I've never heard of anything like this before and haven't seen other people saying anything about it. Any help would be much appreciated.

I got the same e-mail.
Did you the one from UC Santa Cruz?

It’s from support_939259@crm.orionondemand.com. Could it be fake?

I got one too, but not from UC Santa Cruz =/

The letters are real. It is an opportunity to consider another UC that is looking for additional good applicants.

If you are willing to consider some of the other UCs, you should look into it.

I received one of those as well after being rejected by UCLA, and waitlisted by UCSD. If you accept their offer to be considered for admission, and you are admitted, can you still apply/be considered for scholarships and financial aid?

If you have completed the FAFSA, then you should be eligible. You might want to contact the Financial Aid office at the school to be sure.

Thanks, I’ll contact them. Do any of yall know when they’ll notify us with an admission decision? I contacted the admissions office but haven’t received a response yet. Any ideas?
