<p>Emerson College is by far my first choice college and I am very weary of how I will do in the admissions process. Anyone that can offer up any advice and/or insight into this will be greatly appreciated. I intend on studying Broadcast Journalism and pursuing a career in front of the camera in the news industry.</p>
<p>What do you think my chances are with the following stats?</p>
<p>-African-American, Cape Verdean, Multi-Racial Male
-First generation college student
-3.57 weighted GPA
-1610 SATs (am retaking to try to do better)
-About 11 extra-curriculars, 6 of which I hold a leadership position in, and 3 of which are in the field I want to go into at emerson. These extra-curriculars include the track team one year and the National Honor Society currently.
-Well over 350 volunteer hours with Special Olympics, local senior center, school events, etc.
-I am a well-seasoned on-camera anchor and have a resume tape to show it.
-Will have GREAT recommendations</p>
<p>I have taken all honors classes throughout high school and am taking one AP this senior year. </p>
<p>I have a year-round, part-time job at a supermarket and am always on the go. Let me know what you think about Emerson and maybe any other universities in this area that I may consider adding to my list as a good fit. Cast me!</p>
