Emory ed class of 2013

on my to do list, theres only a link for details and underneath it, it says no outstanding items...........

Should I be concerned if I don't see that? I didn't apply for financial aid.

Yeah..it's 5 FA things & 1 is completed & all the others are initiated..

Eh, I don't think it signifies anything, let's not speculate.

lol the requests for the tax returns doesnt mean anything. When I went to my Emory interview and talked to the admissions president, he said early applicants were supposed to send in their tax forms by 11/15. Here is the website:
Financial Aid - Emory College - How to Apply for Early Decision Round 1

Look on the right hand side and it clearly says tax returns are due by 11/15 for ED 1. So having that FA thing in your to-do list definitely does not mean you are accepted. In fact, it probably means you are a little behind in the process lol.

siri-- I agreed with you up until that last part..lol.
My tax forms were sent in with all of my application stuff (around mid september) & the FA stuff has just shown up..and 4/5 of them say initiated. We all know Emory's admissions processing is a tad slow..so like I said don't stress about it.

Didn't you have an alum. interview?

yeah you're right. I just meant to tell to worried applicants that having the FA stuff does not mean one is accepted. And yes, I had an alumni interview (I believe these are the only interviews provided). However, the admissions officer came to the bay area that weekend from Emory to talk to applicants.

The OPUS is asking for 2008 [not 2007] Tax Returns. they're due much later.
They're also asking me for a FAFSA app; that's not even available yet.

siri- yeah, I read about someone having & couldn't remember if it was you or someone else.
That's pretty cool though, how was it?

Emory's great! I absolutely love it here. However, there are other colleges besides Emory, so if you don't get it, it's not the end of the world. Promise.

Last year, we found out midnight of the 14th/15th, even though they told us decisions wouldn't be posted until 8AM on the 15th (this happened two years ago, too). Most likely, decisions will be up at midnight, but don't hold me to that!

I wish all of you the best of luck. If you have any questions, send me a message and I'll try to answer them. Maybe I'll see some of you around campus next year ;-)

I posted this on another thread but...

Um... so I called today, and I asked the woman in admissions "When will decisions be released?" And she answered "The 13th"...there was no hesitation or doubt in her voice, she was very definitive. She did however say that they had no specific time they will be put online.

Has anyone else heard about them posting them two days early, or is this just a fluke?

yeah they're asking me for financial aid stuff too already...like the 08 tax returns and the fafsa and stuff like that. it's seriously messing with my head. i find out about oxford tomorrow, got an email that says that they're releasing the decisions tomorrow instead of the 15th. wish emory would do the same : /

it's so confusing. is it the 13th? 14th? or the 15th like the official web says?!
whoooa,

I don't know but I'm kindd of freaking out. And I don't have any FA thing, but I didn't apply for FA.

I'm confused ^ what do you mean you didn't apply for financial aid?

I mean people are talking about how they have something on their To-Do Lists having to do with financial aid stuff which they speculate may suggest they were accepted. I don't have anything there, but I hope that would be because I didn't apply for FA? I don't know, I don't want to stress about it.

the financial aid stuff has nothing to do with whether you are accepted or not, so don't freak out about that.

Paradycia- the interview went well. They connect you to an interviewer that has majored in your field of intrest, so it was pretty informative. It wasnt too formal, but at the same time it didn't seem awkwardly casual.

comexflyaway- thank a lot for relieving the tensions of a lot of anxious applicants.

Like everyone else here, I wish I knew when the decisions would be posted online, but I'm sure all of you will be checking multiple times a day for the next couple days anyway. In any case I want to request anyone that finds out whether they got in or not to post their results and preferably their stats here too (it would really help me- one of the reasons I created this thread).

Thanks in advance.

Awesome, good to hear, sounds like a good experience.

& bb - you're right, in a few, it'll all be over --:O

I just checked OPUS and......... ACCEPTED!!!!!
