Emory ed1 class of 2020

4 days guy! I don’t know what to do with myself

@ismitah I feel you. Some schools have already released decisions and it making me even crazier!

Does having a brother as a sophomore at Emory help? I have a 3.78 GPA and 32 ACT, average everything else.

@daisy227 : I think (a little, though notv as much as parents), but how do his stats compare to yours.

His were a 4.25 and a 32. He has almost straight As at Emory through three semesters.

@daisy227. Is his major or courseload (or professors for that matter) considered particularly challenging (STEM or a workhorse social science like economics, history, or political science)? Also his GPA is higher than yours by a bit and I’m sure that correlates more with the grades he is making. But I would say that his track record helps though I have the feeling that if they evaluate in any detail, they would have to take into account his interests/major and courses vs. those that you display interest in. Like if he was in a softer grading major (even if we’re talking pre-business pre-reqs) and you declared an interest in say…physics, predicting based on his success is of little use. The fact that your stats are somewhat similar helps overall though. Even without the brother, you have a strong shot

He’s a pre-med history major who developed the REDS test for Ebola and has been on Emory News sites and on the website.

@daisy227 oh wow. I have seen your brother on the emorys news. Your family must be so proud!

What are your ECs like @daisy227?

Did anyone get a extra financial aid thing to complete?

@daisy227: That is the part that counts! That’s what they would rely on. Either way, I think you should get in and really hope you do. Again, you could probably stand on your academic credentials alone but your brother’s success beyond the classroom doesn’t hurt whatsoever. Nice to know that we have had strings of siblings (and sometimes even whole families) that have inspired other immediate family members so much that they apply ED1  . Means Emory is doing well in many areas (actually doing extremely well in the area your brother was involved, entrepreneurship)

@NeuroDude why does the timer say 00:00:00?

Thank you Bernie and Ismitah! Really hopefully. Hope the Committee really did look up my brother as well.

Guys I forgot to submit the IRS parent’s profile… Is this okay??

2014 tax returns?

Did it just appear on your to-do list?

wait… as long as we dont have anything on to do list we’re good right?

Yes it did

@Kostt2000 yes that is good
@pskywalker you need to turn it in for an estimate on your aid on decision day. Fax it in asap with a cover letter that has your name and id# and DOB. Send it to the office of financial aid fac number
