Emory Events

I’ll post some interesting things that happen here at Emory to get you future Emory 09ers psyched.

Wednesday there was party in the duc from 10:00pm to 12:00am. The party was an effort to provide some relief by the university for exams. AMAZING FOOD: eggs, bacon, sausages, pizza, cereal, yoplait yogurt, muffins, pancakes, etc. Music was played and there were weird competitions such as who could build the best graham cracker house in 5 minutes (which resulted into a small food fight). Other contests to win free gift certificates to places. It was craziness. The graham cracker winners received a bike.

I decided to go into the city yesterday with a friend. We went to the coca-cola factory, the underground area, CNN, and just walked around. CNN is massive and we went up the glass elevators to see the entire area. But the best part was going to the Sun Dial restaurant at the top of the Westin. There’s a rotating bar so you have an impressive view of Atlanta (75th? 80th? floor) We hung out in comfortable sofa chairs, sipped some daquiris (my friend used her fake ID to get the alcohol), and looked out on a city lit up with reds and whites. It was amazing. We ordered the shrimp ****tail which was extremely delicious. We also got to keep these huge glasses that the daquiris came in.

Haha.. I love how they censored the first part of c o c ktail.

Yeah it sounds like so much is going on there. I talked to my friend (class of 08') the other day and he says that he absolutely loves it. Seems like a lot of people do...

sweet coop, are people talking about our early decision apps?

keep us updated on all the neat stuff that is happening on campus or around town

People are talking about the ED apps, but it's mostly - "I can't believe they're (Class of 09) finding out already. It's weird."

copper, are there any discount tickets to sports games? Braves, Falcons, etc...

and how widely accepted are fake IDs? From what I hear, around campus they don't appear to be too heavily scrutinized.

I think the Braves are pretty cheap anyways...At least for weekday games. People just don't seem to care about the regular season. Btw, I am a life-long Braves fan.
That wouldn't be bad to have to watch Mike Vick scamper around on Sundays, would it? Better than the Redskins...

Well, if your RA decides to organize a hall trip to a Braves Game, it can be very discounted. Otherwise, it's not. Fake IDs are very widely accepted.

Personally, I'm a Dolphins fan but watching "the most exciting player" in the league should be entertaining.

oh and I'm a life long Braves fan too.
