So I have narrowed down my options for college to:
1.USC 10k scholarship
2.Emory no scholarship
3.MSU brought down my tuition to instate and gave me a job as a research assistant
4.SMU gave me a 17.5k scholarship.... should be somewhat negotiable
5.CU Boulder instate..... kinda threw that one in
6.University of Denver 19k scholarship

There it is. I really like what Emory has to offer! I want to major in biology and want to be a doctor. Any thoughts on where I should go? Thanks!

Does MSU stand for Michigan State or something else? Because if it’s Michigan State, I would probably take the cheap education and guaranteed research assistant spot (assuming doctor is for sure your final goal). Because that’s pretty much a guaranteed medical school admission. At Emory, you have a lot better shot at the elite medical schools but your shot at the lower level ones is about the same (or maybe even lower).

Is USC the one in Los Angeles or the one in Carolina?

Because if it’s the latter, I’d take Emory.

If the former, I’d take USC assuming you’re in the honors track (have a friend in that not sure what it’s called exactly). But California is so expensive the cost would probably come out to be the same for both schools even with the 10k off.

I agree with Aluminum_boat. I hope MSU isn’t Montana State University. Also if you got into Emory, I’d assume the USC is the one in LA, and I’d probably choose USC.

A lot of high school grads start college as pre-med. About half of them switch to something else. I would make the decision more about the experience you want to have in college and less about impacts on possible med school applications.

You’re trying to compare large schools versus middle sized, cold weather versus warm weather, etcetera.
