So I have narrowed down my options for college to:
1.USC 10k scholarship
2.Emory no scholarship
3.MSU brought down my tuition to instate and gave me a job as a research assistant
4.SMU gave me a 17.5k scholarship.... should be somewhat negotiable
5.CU Boulder instate..... kinda threw that one in
6.University of Denver 19k scholarship
So where do you think I should go? My final destination is to become a doctor and I want to major in biology with a possibility of a double major in a business major. Thanks!!

How much are your parents willing to pay? How much would you have to take in loans to graduate? Throwing out scholarship numbers means nothing if we don’t know how much each one costs and how much you have to spend.

money is not an issue— so no need for loans. My parents just dont want me to go to a “prestigious and expensive” school if it isnt any better than one of my cheaper schools.
Prices of tuition and room/board:
USC- 46k
EMory-53k
MSU- 20k
SMU- 37k
CU- 20k
Denver- 30k

Those are huge differentials in prices, I’d absolutely stick with the cheaper state schools (even if your parents are paying for it all). My best friend goes to CU-Boulder - the reputations of MSU and CU-Boulder are relatively similar. Both are huge state schools, relatively well respected, tons of major options, lots of research opportunities, vibrant student/social lives. If you are choosing between MSU and CU-boulder, it really comes down to location (would you rather be in colorado or michigan) because both are pretty nice college towns and have comparable academics. Denver for 30K is all right, but the rest of your options are crazy expensive and unreasonable for the slightly better school reputation. Just my two cents

Raza, personally I would go with CU-Boulder in your case. I think the academics and reputation are a little better at CU-Boulder than MSU. As for your list, if you don’t mind debt Emory is probably the best school, followed closely by USC.

With your scholarship opportunities, MSU is probably the best bang for the buck for a pre-med major - MSU is pretty strong in sciences. If money truly is not an option, I would give Emory a good look.
