@nickkraut Yea it says in the letter “You were accepted to______” or “You were accepted to BOTH …”
@matt4isu they said they would release it at least 24 hours after the decisions. So sometime tomorrow evening I would assume.
@sophunicorn but it only told me i was rejected at Emory college of arts and sciences. It didn’t mention oxford
@nickkraut Did you apply to both colleges? Check the Common app.
@csekar15 I guess not, I thought that because everyone was posting about both that it meant everyone had to apply to both
Waitlisted by both oxford and emory…32ACT 4.4WGPA this is really nervewrecking
I got accepted to Emory!!!
wow, i was not expecting this with a 1390 sat score
it feels good to know that i will be attending college after all, haha, after being mercilessly rejected by washu and northwestern
What is a reason one would accept Oxford over Emory if they were accepted to both?
@Toeupwms
They prefer a smaller more intimate atmosphere for their first few years.
Didn’t get into Emory College, but accepted to Oxford College!
@“pro@procrastinator”
They must have really liked your essay. Congrats.
Waitlisted at Emory.
Also, waitlisted at Wash U, Northwestern.
Those are soft rejections. But, life goes on…
rejected from emory and northwestern in the same day woohoo
Are you kidding me.
Wait listed at Emory
So far,
Accepted to WashU, UCSB, Davis, Santa Cruz Regeant
Wait listed at Northwestern and Pomona
All Sat scores >750, top 5% GPA
Lots of leadership and volunteer, ec’s and awards tho not national or state level.
What is going on.
@pro@procrastinator Emory provides a holistic review. It could have been essays or anything else in your application. The 1390 falls in the 25/75 percentiles and then the rest of your application and interview, if you had one, takes over. Enjoy.
@caleegalee what??? Not everyone with those stats gets in - in fact, many get rejected. You’re probably overestimating yourself and the admissions process is truly a crapshoot. Also, you got into WashU which is very selective so idk why you’re whining??
@caleegalee : not about: “Lots of leadership and volunteer, ec’s and awards tho not national or state level.” or “All Sat scores >750, top 5% GPA”. Not a numbers game at Emory. Some places are more sensitive to numbers and having “lots of things” some places are more sensitive to essays, and perhaps those state or national level awards or just generally indicating a deep passion or spike. Just because you got into WUSTL, does not mean one gets into other top tier schools, even those with lower statistical ranges. The recruiting is holistic at Emory and many places. Plenty of qualified near, below, and above your range will be admitted or denied at these places period. No one is entitled nor should anyone be surprised by a denial from elite private or public no matter its rank.
Current Oxford student here. First off, congrats to those of you who got in! For those of you who didn’t, don’t worry - you will end up at someplace you will love! If you guys have questions about both Emory and Oxford (since I know a lot about both campuses), feel free to PM me!
@iloveavocados, sorry about Emory but I like your chances for USC!
