Emory University / Oxford College Class of 2023 Thread

Waitlisted :neutral: 1450 SAT 4.21 GPA. Not bummed but not thrilled either obviously. Congrats to all who got accepted.

what does it mean to be admitted to Oxford but not Emory?

Is this the right portal?? saprod.emory.edu ??/

Your decision comes in the application portal.

@gherbss last year, Emory didn’t take a single person off the waitlist. Idk if they will take any off this year either since they overenrolled last year. I think they waitlist a few thousand?

@f2000sa Its not in the OPUS portal. There is an applicant portal that is separate. I think my son received an email to set that up around the same time as OPUS. If you go back to the email that Emory sent a week ago I think there is a link to the Applicant portal

last year 4100 were offered a place on wait list, 2700 accepted a place on the wait list and 41 were admitted from the waitlist
Info can be found in section C of the Emory Common Data Set

@gherbss
Emory typically waitlist’s 4000, so even if they do take people off ( although they didn’t last year) it’s unlikely. I would send a LOCI and move on to other schools.

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE accepted and welcome to Emory if you decide to come to Emory the education you will receive is top tier and second to none. Be proud of your accomplishment.

If you didn’t get in, the odds just weren’t in your favor, time to move on to greener pastures, as you will end up where you supposed to.

@posiepetunia
that was 2 years ago

That should you choose, you begin your education at the Oxford campus, graduate with an associates degree after 2 years and then continue your education at Emory main campus/Atlanta and graduate with your 4 yr degree fromEmory university

@kc24567 Someone correct me if I am wrong but it means that you were admitted to Oxford (the smaller campus 30 minutes or so away from the main campus of Emory.) After 2 years you transfer to Emory. If you had been admitted to both you could choose which one you wanted to attend. I haven’t visited, I am going by what I remember reading- so someone else might know more info

I replied below but it did not link to you.

@f2000sa try https://admission.emory.edu/apply/status

yes, I tried to correct that it was 2017

the data set that had 41 people accepted off waitlist was from 2 years ago, not last year. As someone else mentioned, they didn’t accept anyone off waitlist last year. Doesn’t mean they won’t this year though

Yes. I have a sister who chose Oxford, a brother who chose Emory main campus. They are both at Emory main; she had a graduation last May and received an associates
's degree.

Thanks all for the help, Good luck to everyone!

Waitlisted… 4.0 UW, 33 ACT. I applied 11/15. This is extremely disappointing. I was at work and I went to the bathroom to check and cried for 20 minutes. How can I expect to get in any of my top reaches if I can’t get into Emory?

Rejected. Legacy. ?
