I am currently a music education major, but have recently found a new love for Theatre. I am thinking of switching to a Theatre major with a music minor because I still want to keep in music, but am unsure whether I want to pursue and teach it on a daily basis. What kinds of things could I do with a music minor and Theatre major? Does anyone know?

There are lots of audition opportunities for actors who play instruments. You could teach theater. You could write musicals. You could play in pit orchestras. You could incorporate theater into musical performance (like Amanda Palmer, for instance). You would have a BA (yes?), so you could apply for any number of entry level, non-performance related jobs (PR, marketing, sales, etc.) You could go to graduate school (law school, business school, master’s degree). I don’t think anyone would tell you that a theater major with a music minor is a guarantee of employment, but you would have some marketable skills.
