engg major students how many years did it take?

yea.. was just curious that how many years did u guys who wanted to major in any type of engg. take to transfer to a 4 year univ?

I just mapped out my flowchart, and it's going to take two years. I didn't have majors this term because I wasn't able to register for them, so I'll be studying from Fall '08 up to Spring '10 (plus Summer '09). Applying to UCs on Fall '09. No previous or AP credits whatsoever. College calc on the placement test.

I had my courses planned out for prereqs on Cal's EECS and UCI/UCLA's CSE to a total of 70 units. Hehe. :)

2.5 years could have been less but I did all the pre-req's for math/econ major first including IGETC. Also mistakenly took stats, then finite math, then started at trig for the calc series. Will have about 150 quarter units after this spring term.

i am just scared that i dnt end up being in a community college for 4 or 3 typish years...
coz i have to still fulfill pre calculus prerequisites

lol sagoorbest I would say the majority of your posts are only half-legible. Anyways like I said I started at trig, which is lower than pre-calc, and it didn't take me 4 or 3 years, so it potentially shouldn't take you any longer. Just take a math class every term, including summer. By the time you're up to your second multivar. calc you can take it at the same time as diff eq's and linear algebra too.

hmm but i think there are like 3 physics courses too
for
1st phy course i req math 265
2nd phy course i req like umm succeeding maths courses

so well umm i think it will take me 2 semesters to get into math 265 thus at the 3 rd semster i will be able to study phy and considering there are 3 semesters in a los Angeles community college( i am not sure cz i am new to this place) i wuld have to complete the rest 6 maths courses in 1 year... so i wuld req 6 semesters coz i was told i can do only 1 particular subject course per semester.....hmmm so i think 2 and a half years would be enuf :-)

PS
pardon me coz well i was typing this while i was thinking and planning lol this is my mind talkin to myself in this post

PSS
srry sstory :-) but i am just so curious and nervous srry again

--like I said, you can take the last three math classes together your last term. People might say this is an overload but it won't be any harder than your schedule for upper-div eng. classes. And no need to be sorry I went through all this panic when I switched to engineering too :)

I think we all go through some sort of panic stage... I couldn't stop thinking about it too until I got off my butt and planned my courses. Haha!

hello everyone...has everyone finished all prereqs for each school they are applying to

i was wondering if you are missing one prereq (specifically, the 2nd semester of chemistry) how do admissions people look at that if everything is alright, and you have a high gpa (3.94)???

please feel free to respond!

i ended up applying to ucla as math instead of civ eng because I wouldn't have finished second semester chem had the rest done but on assist it says the listed prereqs on the sheet are "REQUIRED" which included 2nd semester chem
