my friend and i are both incoming mechanical engineer students
i was under the impression that engineering 28 is a required course for ME
my friend told me today that at CalSO, he registered for engineering 77, not engineering 28
this is a bit confusing. what's the difference between 28 and 77, and do they count as the same? (as in fulfilling requirements and such)
btw, E28 is 3 units (5 units in disguise of 3, i heard) and E77 is 4 units.

5 hrs =/= 5 units for many lower div engineering courses :p

Both are required and completely different. E28 is CAD and Solidworks. E77 is Matlab - a simple programming/scripting language.

im me too, incoming freshman. both are required, but they don't necessarily need to be taken in that same order as listed in the 06-07 announcement (ME course outline in the back)...which is e28 then e77.

personally, i'm doing e28...don't see much of a reason to switch it around but i'm sure since they're so different it wouldn't make much of a difference. kind of like math 53/54?
