Engineering 7

1.) How hard will this class be for someone who's had no programming experience?

2.) How many hours a week should i expect to spend on this class if I've had no programming experience? After reading reviews of the class, e7 seems to be heavily based on math. I'm not terrible at math, but it doesn't come naturally to me like so many others in my previous classes.

thanks!

The workload delends on professors, range from avg 5-15 hrs per week(assignment alone). This couse is math intense(mostly linearly algebra), logic is also major part of it(if and while loops).

Homeworks are 50% of the grade, or at least when I took it. The class is designed for people w/ no programming experience, but it will take a lot of time since it’s busywork all over the place. Taking Math 54 concurrently or before E7 will help a lot.

I’m taking Math 1B concurrently, will I be behind?

Not sure when Math 1B will cover the ordinary differential topic, but you’re definitely at a disadvantage compared to those who’re taking or already took Math 54.

i’m also curious about the difficulty of this class since i’ll be taking it this fall, which, from what i’ve heard, is harder than in the spring because the ME professors teach it. Is it time consuming to the point where it becomes difficult to focus on the my other engineering classes and still have a of a social life?
