How does credit for ap work? Some of the credits say general credits, what does that mean? Would I be able to skip some GEs or something as an engineer?

I don’t think your AP’s will be good for anything except maybe skipping a class
or two of calculus (if you have APs in that). AP credits cannot be used for required
GE courses. As far as I can tell, they can only be used for ‘elective credit’ and the engineering major has so many required units, there isn’t any elective credits needed.
One thing (and this is a very important thing) they are good for is they bump
you up in the line for your registration appointments (after priority students like
athletes, honors, etc. your place in line is based on how many credits you have).
