Engineering at BU

I remember coming from a college tour at BU. All they seem to talk about was the business program or communcations department. It made be worried how good was engineering at BU.

Do they have faclities like MIT
Are there professers top notch
Can I get into a decent grad school or et a good job coming out

From what I have seen, the engineering building is one of the most modern and high-tech buildings on campus. The only reason they don't talk about it more is that the building is a bit out of the way from the normal tour route. It is on Cummington Street, the street that runs behind Warren Towers. Since they don't pass by the building, they don't talk about it as much. My best friend at BU is an engineering student and absolutely loves it. He says that his courses are very challenging and all of his professors are absolutely top notch. He works very hard but feels very rewarded. He also told me that BU engineering students get tons of research opportunities to help out professors during the summer. I would call up the college of engineering and ask if they run any school-specific tours. That way you can see it in detail. Make sure to go to the website. They may have pictures of the great new building.

my boyfriend is a mechanical engineer, and some of my closest friends are mechanical, computer systems, and biomedical engineers. the program is extremely intense, but they do very well and love the opportunities. my friends have been doing a nanoset program which, i believe, is a competition between other schools where all different kinds of engineers at BU unite to build a satellite. i also heard somewhere that BU is something like #7 in the country for engineering.

If you make it through the program with a decent GPA, you'll get a good job. I'm a sophomore BME at BU and I love it. I'm not sure about the other programs but BU's undergrad BME program is ranked 8th in the nation and the grad program is ranked 7th. Most of the research grants in ENG also go towards BME projects (<a href="http://www.bu.edu/eng/facts)%5B/url%5D">http://www.bu.edu/eng/facts)</a>.</p>

I haven't had too much experience with ENG professors so far because you still take mostly CAS classes your freshman and sophomore years, but the ENG profs I've had so far seem great and they seem to care a lot more about your success than the core CAS classes you start out taking.

If you have anymore specific questions, feel free to ask.

not only our BME is ranked #8 in the nation.
Im a EE in BU and I still remember that I went to a spring open house that shows BU has a better equipment and engineering facilities than MIT
this is a fact.

Does anybody know anything about the aerospace and/or mechanical major
