Villanova is ranked #10 by US news but I have read that it is not considered as reputable as other institutions on the list of undergrad engineering. Would a degree prepare you as well or look any different from other colleges?

well considering no one’s answering I’m starting to think it’s not great

Can anyone please comment on the engineering program? Maybe all the engineers are too busy at their internships this summer? Any alums out there willing to comment?

Villanova’s engineering program is very well known and very rigorous. Don’t base your college decisions on a lack of posts on a forum. The quality of life is very high at Villanova so they have better things to do than spend their free time on a CC website.

Well MrInformed, if the quality of life is so high and people have better things to do than spend their free time on CC then riddle me this: why would you have posted 10 times today which happens to be the first day you joined? Seems like you don’t have your priorities straight.

Cuz its summer and i have some free time to answer some questions
look, im just trying to help out but if you respond with vitriolic comments i dont see the need in helping you. Visit villanova and make a fair judgement. Just dont base your college admission process entirely on us news rankings and the number of posts you get on colllege confidential. You should also consider buying the princeton review book that lists reviews on colleges. That is a great source of information.

Just remember college selection should be based on which schools fit you the individual the best. Maybe you will visit villanova and find that you cant imagine spending the next four years in this institution or you will absolutely fall in love with the school and disregard all preconceived notions about the university. And like i said, villanova is a great school in all disciplines. Nova students are generally happy as reflected by the very high freshhmen retention rate.

Hope that helps!

Villanova does have an excellent engineering program. I’ve talked to a lot of people who were in it and they ended up going to Ivies for Grad School and they felt very well prepared.
