enrollment deposit before housing?

We just received info about registering for housing, and they mentioned a $100 nonrefundable deposit. They did not say that we had to pay an enrollment deposit first.

Lots of schools we've applied to require a nonrefundalbe enrollment deposit, then you can apply for housing which is mostly refundable.

Want to make sure what Clemson's policy is with this.

Can you apply for housing without an enrollment deposit?

You can apply for housing without an enrollment deposit. However, there is a $50 non-refundable processing fee that you must pay before successfully applying for housing so consider this before applying to housing before paying an enrollment deposit to any college.

THe housing letter said a $100 nonrefundable deposit for housing. So is there an additional $50 on top of that? Or is that something we pay first in order to apply for housing and then pay an additional $100?

ah oh maybe the fee increased to $100 this year, last year my housing deposit was $50

I just spoke with UMich housing dept. They said as long as you get your enrollment/housing deposit in by May 6 your in the general pool for housing with everyone else. In other words, you’re no more likely to get your first choice of housing if you send your deposit in today or if you send it in on May 5.
Hope this helps.

As far as I know, there is no enrollment deposit, just the $100 nonrefundable housing deposit, which is due by May 1st. Also, housing assignment for new freshman go by the date you submitted your admission application, not the date that you pay your deposit. There are special fees associated with the Calhoun Honors College.

there is a $200 admissions deposit due by may 1st, this confirms your enrollment and is thus the so called “enrollment deposit”.

I applied for housing but have yet to pay the deposit. Im flying out to check it out april 22-25 should be a great time!

Thanks again pierre0913, totally forgot about the $200 deposit! I’ve been getting confused with everything.
