Ensuring Roommate for Freshman Housing

Hi, I am a newly admitted freshman.

The YSC housing decisions have just been out and my roommate and I find ourselves very compatible. We want to ensure that we are together, but we also want to ensure that our room type doesn't change.

These are my questions:

If I don't submit a reassignment request, what are the chances of my roommate changing?

If I do submit a reassignment request, how do I fill it out so that I get my desired roommate and my desired room type (there is only 1 room type that I want, but I have to fill in 3 options, or can I just leave the other 2 options blank)?

Thanks :)

This is what the USC website says:
“Due to reassignment and consolidations, residents of a room who are not already accepted roommates are subject to change. If the resident you are assigned with is not already your accepted roommate, but you would like to be sure you will live with them next year, you will need to link yourselves together as roommates in our system. To do this, you will both fill out a reassignment request form: you do not need to request to change your building, just request a roommate.”
