I was just sent an e-mail invitation to apply to the Advanced Honors Program. I had previously thought that only entering freshmen would be considered if their scores in high school were high enough. But nevertheless, I was just sent this invitation to apply.

1.) Is it worth it? What are some notable benefits and drawbacks?
2.) Is it only for a semester or throughout all four years?
3.) One requirement is to write an Honors thesis or develop a project. Is this only during senior year?
4.) Are there any scholarships that come with it?

1) Worth it? Definitely. If you live in NY state, you’ll be essentially paying almost nothing to attend college. You receive scholarships. As for other benefits, I’m sure there are many; I believe honors college students get priority when choosing classes, but don’t quote me on this.
2) Four years
3) You’re probably better off re-reading the e-mail they sent you or simply contact them than asking the forums.
4) Absolutely. Just check out the honors college here: [University Honors College](http://honors.buffalo.edu/)
