has anyone majored in this that can tell me about it or why they majored in it or anything?

It's not a major, but a concentration. You would have to major in something else, and then you could take however many EMT classes you need to qualify for a certificate. My friend who did it said that he thought only one of the classes was worth anything.

i want to become an entertainment lawyer at first and in the future maybe get involved with production and probably become an agent, so i was thinking in undergrad i'd study business with concentration in some sort of entertainment like NYU offers maybe with a minor in production and then go onto learn about the law aspect of entertainment in law school...
is this the track i should be on and in this case wouldn't the concentration be helpful to me?

You're asking the wrong person, since I have no idea what it takes to be an entertainment lawyer. But if you want my uninformed opinions... Well, first, you can't just study 'business' at Stern - I think if you eventually want to be an agent, you might want to look into majoring in marketing and then tacking on the EMT concentration or perhaps doing the producing minor at Tisch (though I think this is more specific to film, but again, I don't know tons about it). In any case, the law school bit is probably going to have much more of an impact on your success in becoming an entertainment lawyer than the business school aspect.

Just to clarify, my friend meant that he didn't really learn anything extra from most of his EMT classes. That doesn't mean having the concentration on your resume wouldn't be helpful.

thanks, i appreciate your uninformed opinion as it seems pretty similar to what i was thinking
let me just ask you one more think

i am very well aware that law school will be very crucial to my becoming an entertainment lawyer (i also look to possibly become an agent or produce etc later on after that) but i know that law school is a very open major type admissions process so i figured what better than study business because you will be able to get into law schoola and you'll get a degree in something very useful and that looks great on resume....is this true?

I've heard (from a Stern prof that did his JD/MBA/PhD at Harvard) that undergrad business school students actually have a slight edge when it comes to law school admissions because many law schools are turning out mostly corporate lawyers - and a lot of them actually don't have any idea about how business works. However, I don't think your undergrad major makes a substantial enough difference that you should pick based only on what you think law schools like. In the end, they just care about LSAT scores & GPA.

but for myself business is a great degree to have for me and for future employers,r ight?
