Envelope-- big or small?

10 days left!! or maybe 9... it makes me get goosebumps every time i think about it!

Okay you guys listen to this--

I just spoke to my friend who goes to Wash U, and she got in early last year... she said she checked her scores online and found out either the 12TH or the 13TH!!! AHHH CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT'S LIKE 6-7 DAYS FROM NOW! haha sorry im flipping out a bit...

YAY! dont blame you for flippin out :) these last couple days of waiting are torturrrrrre

My son got in ED1 last year. His acceptance letter was posted on the web site on December 14 (the "check your status" section). He had been clicking on "check your status" daily and then on the 14th there was a new line "Your decision letter!" He had been a little worried because all of his ED friends had already heard from their colleges, so don't worry if it takes until the 14th or 15th. Hang in there and good luck, you guys. Wash U. is as wonderful as it seems.

Thanks for the info, mom555! Does your son love Wash U?

He really does love it. First the students - they're genuinely NICE! And it's diverse too. We're from California, and diversity is really important to us. The administration is super supportive. The dorms are wonderful, and so is the food. There is ALWAYS stuff going on because it's a residential college and almost everyone is on campus, plus the students are not jaded and love to do activities enthusiastically: pick-up sports games, cultural activities, ice cream breaks, dorm floor outings and activities together (like cooking), barbecues, salsa dance lessons, the usual parties, you name it! And of course, the academics are excellent: challenging but not cut-throat. I sat in on a few classes during Parents' Weekend and was so touched by the kids there - they really cared about their classes and were intelligent and engaged, but they were not out to prove obnoxiously that they were smarter than everyone else. We should be walking Wash U ads because it's a wonderful school in very way.
I feel you guys' anxiety. My daughter too is waiting for her ED1 decision. I guess we all have to remember that if the news are sad, there are other great schools out there. But if it's good news, then...!!!

I'm so happy to hear that! That's the sense I got from the school when I visited, as well...

Question: Does anyone know for sure when they MAIL out the decision? Because I'd much rather get it in the mail than online... and is it possible they mail it earlier? I guess probably not. So is it decided that they put your decision ONLINE on the 14th?

Yes, decision goes online the 14th, if you're accepted your box should arrive on the 15th.

i called the admissions office and they said decisions are mailed on the 15th and posted online after that

mom555 - that's exactly everything I love about washu, you couldn't have said it better! good luck to your daughter :)

Thanks, laurezer!
Ilovedogs, you get the mailed decision by the 15th or 16th because they send it by some overnight service. You feel really special because they send you a colorful binder with some letters in it, and then it's real!
You poor sweeties - my daughter is getting really nervous. My son loves it there so much that many students from their high school decided to apply there this year, a few ED1. We keep hoping we'll wake up to Wednesday morning to good news.

So......

Wednesday (12/14) ONLINE (what time?)
Thursday (12/15) MAILED LETTER OR PACKAGE

????????????

is this our speculation or what the office of admissions has said.

This is what the past three classes have said.

hey, does anyone know what time on the 14th the decisions are available online?

Keep checking and checking, love, nobody knows for sure.

Last year, the first person to post on CC was at 3:20 in the afternoon on the 14th... so maybe the e-mail will be sent around 3:00. I kind of wish I could find out from the mail and not online, but I don't think I can wait till the 15th... ahh
