Continuing with the freaking out stage of anticipating my ED decision, I was wondering if anybody knew how Amherst rejection/acceptance letters compare in size. I know some schools mail a typical business-sized envelope to both acceptees and rejectees, and mail the thicker thing later, and some just mail the thick one up front to the acceptees and the thin letter to rejectees.

Zspot, I don't know if you've heard yet but I got accepted ED on Friday... in a small envelope. Apparently all decisions are mailed in the regular envelope so don't freak out if you get the business-size. Good luck

RD differs, I think. My acceptance envelope was a priority mail envelope, and I live in new jersey. That is not to say there were small accpetance envelopes, I heard the stories of some.

But I think if what you get is business-sized, or a priority mail, you're definitely in, because that means they've sent the "Welcome to Amherst!" packet along the decision letter.
