Environmental Science Schools

Does anyone have rankings or know of good schools in environmental science? Also, what careers do environmental science majors often become?

There was a recent thread on this topic that was very comprehensive.

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=219252%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=219252</a></p>

Thank you. That was about environmental studies, not science. The majors differ, but I am assuming that a school that has a good program in environmental studies will also have a good program in environmental science. Anyone else have any advice?

Gourman Report Undergrad environmental sciences
environmental sciences
Harvard
MIT
Cornell
UC Berkeley
UC Davis
U Michigan Ann Arbor
U Penn
UVA
SUNY Coll Env Sci Forestry
JHU
Purdue
U Minnesota

In the northeast, also consider SUNY Plattsburgh.

If you are looking for an LAC, look at Allegheny College. They have one of the oldest Environmental Science programs around.

Any other suggestions? I'm looking for an university, not a LAC, in an urban or suburban setting, just not rural. A medium to large student body (5000+). A school with D1 sports would be a plus, but not a necessity.

Try searching for that on the CollegeBoard.com web site.

i would imagine UC Davis is strong in this field.
