hit me up.

the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Good: Dorms and location

Bad: GEs

Ugly: Thin walls

the GEs !!! as always...arghhhh

ERC is so pretty. I went informally touring UCSD today and you can notice the ERC buildings a mile away. It's like a miniature Mediterranean village.

yeah but i insist, the GEs!!!!!!!

i so regret not having put Muir as my top choice..

Isn't it worth it by having friends from all over the world though :(

dude, i like MMW! i can't wait for next quarter! haha
how could it NOT be interesting, it's the entire history of the world!

and as for the rest of my GE's...my AP tests got me out of a lot of them. because of APs i'm done with language, science, and a quarter of my regional specialization.

as of now i'm also done with my arts and math requirement. all i have left to do is MMW and two quarters of regional specialization.

i'm already well into my major :)

I am not an ERC student, but I can make some commentary...

Quite frankly, I think the ERC area is a little freakishly neat (I like the more aged look of Muir and Revelle) but the dorms themselves are quite simply amazing and are much easier to live in than the others that I have seen (especially Revelle's...)

And in reference to slorg's comments about the thin walls, ERC isn't the only one. In revelle, the walls are made of dry wall and brick but you can hear everything thats going on.

But there is, of course, the GEs. I have met very few people that actually like the GEs at ERC. The second quarter of MMW seems to be well liked however (and it sounds interesting...)

"quite frankly, I think the ERC area is a little freakishly neat"

hahahaha. it is VERY neat...i guess maybe to the point of being called "freakish" haha. it has a pretty different feel than all the other colleges because of that; everything feels really clean.

"i have met very few people that actually like the GEs at ERC"

This is true; most people don't really like them. i guess i wouldn't either if i hadn't gotten out of so many of them.

Oh, and i guess a plus for the guys is that girls outnumber guys by a lot at ERC haha

yeah, i like mmw2 sooo much better than mmw1! i LOVE reading/learning ancient greek history (sparta!! lol) and buddhism, but perhaps it was because i had a really nice teacher :)

who was your teacher?

ERC does have a very different feel. It is a lot more modern-looking.

And ERC is kinda far from classes for science students, science and math classes (with the exception of physics) being almost always in Revelle and Muir... Can't say much about the classes though... But ERC is really close to Rimac, if you go to the gym...

ERC is freakishly neat, because it has buildings most recently built...more modern style architecture?

i had professor cohen :) chamberlain's another popular one (but he didn't even bother giving his students study guides for the midterm..). i have him next quarter for mmw3, so we'll see how it goes ^^. for mmw1 i had jordon..personally not the best teacher, he had slides and everything, but still was more boring than cohen. (cohen btw has a more "listen and take notes" style of lecturing. he writes the main points and terms on the board and online).

if you decide to submit to sir to ucsd, i strongly urge you to look at http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/SelectTeacher.jsp?sid=1079 before deciding on a professor.

great...im majoring in chem and im ****** far awar from muir and revelle for classes

bus is quite helpful in that situation :)
