Err

Ok, I am a freshman making my transition into the 10th grade next year. I did extremely poorly freshman year because of a personal issue that has nothing to do with death or any of those sad forgiving dilemmas. My school does GPA out of 8 but I don't know what that is for my grades but I did calculate it with a 4.0 system and I ended up with a 2.7 <_< I know, I know, it's a horrible GPA.

English 9 Honors - B+

Global History 9H - C (1st and 2nd quarter I was in AP world and I got a C 1st and an F 2nd and I dropped out so I was in honors for 3rd and 4th)

Math 10 Honors (I blew it here) - D

Computer Programming: Visual Basic - C+

Earth Science - B

French 2 - B

Digital Photography - B+

Design and Drawing for Production - B

Gym - A

As you can see, I did really terrible freshman year but right now I have the motivation/drive to get straight A's next year. I just want to go to a SUNY school, preferably Stony Brook for pre-med or GWU. If I end up with a 4.0 freshman and junior I can bring my 2.7 up to a 3.5. Think I will make it? No worries about the SATs, I already have a tutor for it and I got a 1640 on my 1st practice SAT which I took cold, last week. I never had any prior experience on it until then. I'm positive that I can get a 2200+ by the time junior year rolls around which is 2 years anyway. So yeah, any insight would be appreciated.

I think you can definitely make it into a SUNY School. Just work hard, you're stats aren't too bad.

Good luck (:

Well I forgot to mention if it was a SUNY school, only Stony Brook or Binghamton.

Interests:

BU (pre-med)
Stony Brook (pre-med
GWU (pre-med)
Binghamton (pharmacy)
St. Johns (pharmacy)
NYU (pre-med)

Thats my list so far. . .

Freshman year, chill. IF you work hard starting soph year you can probably have a decent shot at Stanford.

btw, I'm also a rising soph and I have similar problems towards you, except it's more like EC/activity/studying (I did NOTHING except Pokemon and World of Warcraft, starcraft, etc this year) but my gpa was (astonishingly) a 4.0...

I know colleges will definitely like the upward-trend in my GPA for sophomore and junior year which I will hopefully show, I just want to know if say, a 2200 SAT with around a 3.5-3.6 GPA is good enough for the colleges I listed above. My EC's are fine and hypothetically thinking, recs and all are fine too.
