ass't : Does progress depend on people with new ideas rather than on people whose ideas are based on the current way of doing things?

Every year, in every countries, we see fervent politicians firmly yelling for change, especially during elections. They make it sound like as if the world, not to mention their small region of politics, would end if voters were not to choose him to bring the "desperately needed changes." However, progress is not always triggered by rebellious acts of change that defy the current set of thoughts. Rather, it is the result of continuous efforts to view what is right and what is wrong in the status quo. Unlike what many brilliant orators argue, progress can arise when the same things are simply better achieved.

It is hard not to listen to what great speechmakers urge, which is usually demanding to make a difference in the society. However, it is important to know that in many cases, they are only radical demagogues trying to win more votes by rousing the public with seemingly insightful tactics and embellished motifs for change. Little do they know that the key to actually enhancing the lives of people lies not in unconditional change, but deep inside the heart longing to truly serve people by observing the society with an objective perspective. Indeed, it is easy to see that the core of many cries of change is based on irrational criticism of the current way of life, no matter how much or little pollution in suffers.

Furthermore, one thing more often than not that goes unnoticed is progress without categorical change, but instead, numbers of small modifications to the prevailing stream of values. Many times, history fails to emphasize numerous accounts of social development that were built upon not significant rebellions, but on careful refinements of unchanging peace. True, many cases in the past centuries prove that today's democracy has been achieved thanks to undying change, such as the Civil War or the French Revolution. Yet, not many understand the accomplishments of less insurgent people, who remain unnamed because of lack of our attention, who have contributed to maintain the good aspects of society.

Needless to say, progress is vital to the history of a society. Of course, change may be needed to ammend parts of a group to warrant that progress. However, it is important that we realize the value of stick to many positive aspects of the society that serve to maintain peace, security, and also progress in the society.
