<p>How off-topic truly is off-topic for the SAT Essay portion?</p>
<p>I'm wondering because I have a feeling that I've written an off-topic essay for the SAT and I'm scared half to death. </p>

<p>zeroes are pretty rare. You have to be really off topic to get a 0. If it asks you to “Talk about how man’s largest accomplishments in the past affect the present” and you write about how they affect the future instead, you’ll probably be fine.</p>
