Essays for religious schools

I will be applying to two catholic schools but I am not religious at all. Though it will not be the main point of my essay, would it be a good or bad idea to mention that I have chosen a religiously affiliated school because different beliefs and cultures interest me. So why highlight that you’re not religious? What do you have to gain by doing so? How does it give them a reason to say yes?
