What are my chances for admission to Claremont McKenna?

Thanks so much to anyone who answers, or gives me any advice. I really appreciate you

Your obvious issue, as you know, is your test score. And what is your unweighted GPA? Those are what you need to focus on.

At this moment, it seems like a high reach for you. But don’t get too hung up on one school. Your goal should be to develop a list of schools that include safeties and matches that you really want to attend as well.

CMC is a reach school for everyone these days.

25th percentile SAT score of admitted students form 2017/18 CDS was 1340

With the exception of your SAT scores, everything else looks fine. But the SAT is very important, and if you’re not in the 1400+ range, your chances are very poor. The 25th percentile score of 1340 is misleading. I’d say no more 2% of non-hooked applicants get in with such a score. Legacies are routinely rejected, even in ED, with SATs in the 1300’s.

So, prep like crazy, take the SAT again, also prep and take the ACT.

@intparent unweighted is 94, and weighted as of now is 99

Your grades are okay, then. But your test score is not. The average SAT score is 1490. You want to be above that average if at all possible. Students below that are often hooked (athlete, legacy, URM, etc). You can submit the art portfolio if it is good, although I don’t think of CMC as a school with a particular focus on art.

thank you @intparent
