Estimated Rank

<p>I have a question about rank and admissions. ND’s website says that the average admitted student's rank was top 4%. I go to the top girls’ high school in my state, which does not rank. ND’s app required my counselor to put down my estimated decile ranking…top 20%. She did add that I’m taking one of the heaviest courseloads in the senior class. </p>

<p>Will my rank hurt me significantly in RD admissions? I know that they take a holistic approach, but that “top 4%” figure has me pretty nervous…:/</p>

<p>I would say that, if the rest of your app is strong, this is nothing to worry about. I was in about the same situation (I go to an extremely competitive, rather small high school, and probably rank in the top 20% though my school does not rank) and I still got accepted. Hope that helps quell your fears! As long as the rest of your app is strong, you’ll be fine.</p>
