<p>Okay. So, I am from the Middle East. Both parents are from Afghanistan, with a very strong background in the military prior to the end of the Soviet-Afghan War. I was born in the U.S.</p>
<p>Anyways, I was always confused as to what ethnicity I belong to. I know that Afghanistan is in Asia, so, technically, I'm Asian??? However, I, also, understand that Caucasian = Aryan = Iran = Afghanistan (and I am really summarizing that). So, am I Caucasian? At the same time, I don't feel as if I belong to either of those. Ethnicity is subjective...and I don't feel like I belong to any of the typical categories seen on applications. </p>
<p>I feel as if there should be another choice, Middle Eastern. Do you think I should put other, and write in Afghani/Middle Eastern?</p>
<p>The thing is, would it seem like I don't know what I belong to? Will the app reader believe I'm mistaken or something? I don't want to write about it in an essay or anything because I would rather emphasize on my passions, but I don't want to have the person reading it to believe something negative.</p>
