Does every college in the common app require a mid year report?

Yes, it is part of the Common Application itself.

Not all do. Go to the following website. Then chose option E which will download a pdf of the College Deadlines, Fees and Requirements Grid. Column MY (Mid-Year) in the grid indicates whether or not the college requires a mid-year report.

Oops, sorry!

Yeah, not every one does. For example, Cornell College and Beloit don't... I wish I had known, so I didn't spend paper and money to DHL it from here...and I got my acceptance a few days after sending it, too!

does MY stand for mid year?

Yes, there is a Note at the top of the report.

My GC didnt send the Mid year Report but send an explanation instead.
Our school was over by December so that obviated the need for the Mid year thingie.
So yeah not all school send it and not all colleges need it mandatorily.
But I was relieved for it not being sent, cause i had F'ed up my mid terms big time.

so that means i dont have to send mid years to carnegie mellon in order to be admitted right?

ask your GC. S/he will have a better idea.
