<p>Anyone wanna show me their “Why Brown?” essay? Usually for these
why “school” ? essays, I basically just list reasons in essay form. I feel like that won’t cut it for Brown though.</p>

<p>Nope, that's it. I was told that htere was no need to be fancy with the "why" essays, and just be straight and honest about it. I think it can be as long as you want. It worked for me, anyway.</p>

<p>I didn't use any real thought when I wrote the "why Brown" essay (if you can call it that). I just wrote why I genuinely wanted to attend Brown. No BS. But for you RDers, I can see how you might need to BS some stuff.</p>
<p>Just focus on your personal statement.</p>
<p>BTW, Juniors: Believe me, it's WAY too early to be considering writing essays. Your school interests are going to change soooo many times, your writing skills will improve, and you'll have had new experiences that may aid you in developing your essays. You are rushing it way too much if you're trying to get your essays done now, nearly a year before your applications will be due.</p>

<p>This is not related to the actual formatting of an essay, but if there are any RDers who dont have a solid idea yet about why they are applying to Brown (Ill avoid going into why I think that is a bad state of affairs because I know how many schools some of you are applying to), they might be interested in looking at my post, To those who have been deferred.</p>
