I was thinking about writing about when my lung collapse and I had to go to the hospital to have surgery. From this experience, I'm going to write about how it changed my views on life. for a couple of things at the moment it taught me that no matter what you do in life, you can never plan your life out. You just have to take one step at a time. Mostly important I learned that I had to live for today instead of tomorrow. I like this idea because i feel i can possibly make it philosophical by adding in some naturalist concepts here and there (just a tad bit).

Would it be too risky to discuss the negative aspects of it? Like how I missed my SATs, loads of school work and the fact that I had to take form B of my APUSH exam?

Your thoughts are welcomed....thanks in advance.

I think its totally alright. Just be careful to not sound too cliche or anything. But besides that small danger, I think its a really good topic. Geez, that must have been horrible for you. Hope you're alright now. I like the philosophical idea! Good Luck :)

I think its just to be very genuine. With tragedies, so many people write the same way. tnb19's advice was good, make sure not to say that only good came out because that is not real, and fakeness is what makes an essay cliche. Make it totally your own and don't write how you think others will think is right, do what feels right to you.
