Hi. I know this is pretty random, but i attended summer school at exeter this summer, and a lot of people lived in "houses"- Moulton House, Knight House, Gould House, etc. not dorms.
Do preps get placed in houses? what's the atmosphere like in the houses?
also, what is dorm life like at Exeter.

I have never known a prep to be placed in a house. They are usually reserved for new or returning uppers, seniors, and/or PG’s. I am sure there may be exceptions. I have known a new lower (international student) to be placed in a house.

^^^ all true but people that do live in houses as far as I know it love it.
But to comment on dorm life: it’s amazing!
I live in one of the smaller dorms on campus and we are really tight and always say hi to each other. We had a movie night in our common room the other weekend, and each dorm has little traditions that are always fun. so basically it’s the best :)

okay. just random but what time does internet shut off?

11 on school nights (which includes lots of Fridays); later on the week-end (can’t remember exactly when–maybe 1 am?)

Are you allowed to skate?
I love longboarding and skating in general, so I was wondering if there was a organization for skaters on campus/ if you were allowed to skate at all.

Yup, houses are pretty much all new upperclassmen. There are couple of houses in particular (one for girls, one for boys) who commonly house new lowers. A couple of returning students choose to live in a house the next year. Houses have a reputation for being boring because they have so few residents (usually 10-20), but having so few students can be really nice. (More room per person, depending on the house.) Also, there are no preps so they’re quieter and the rules are usually a little more relaxed.
