Has anyone attending Exeter next year received their math placement test, and if so, by mail or email? I've received a language test, but not math, and I'm starting to worry that I should have received it by now.

We received an e-mail directing us to the math dept. webpage to download the portions of the exam they wanted about a month ago (a week or two after the questionnaire was mailed back).

From last year’s posts, however, it seemed not all students were given the placement tests. Some were placed directly into classes based on their requests and their math teacher recs and SSAT scores. It seems the placement test is only used when more info is needed. We also hear that many students change levels at the beginning of the year once they get started, so the placement test is not the final word.

Your advisor may have more info.

2prepMom is right. It is possible that you won’t need to take a math placement test at all. However it did take me a much longer time to get my math test (received via Exeter email) compared to my language test. Maybe they wait until they receive your language test to give you math? I have no clue. But be patient and ask your advisor or contact the dean’s office if you are really concerned about it. Hope this helps.
