I think she was more just insinuating that they will no longer be the “Big Ten”… they’ll have to rebrand as the “Big Eleven” or “Big Twelve” or whatever they end up being.

Also, as a UT fan, I say good riddance of Colorado, but I positively hate that the Big Twelve is being broken up. Plus the Pac-10 is just plain far.

I think the number one reason the Big Ten is expanding (besides $$$) is to get leverage on ND. Right now ND does not want in so they want to pressure them to join by getting more members. This also gives them a bigger reason to steal schools from the Big East. I think they will offer Rutgers for Philly/NY and then either stay put if ND joins then or get two more schools if ND refuses then.

Scenario 1
12. Nebraska
13. Rutgers
14. ND

Scenario 2
12. Nebraska
13. Rutgers
14. Syracuse
15. Maryland/UVA
16. ND

The Big 10 already has (or had?) 11 teams before any expansion. And LOL at the suggestion of Chicago.

if the Big 10 had expanded this past year, Nebraska would’ve gone to the BCS.
