Has anyone requested an expedited decision with a positive outcome? Just curious. I emailed to check on the status of my application (since I'm still deferred) and the response I received was "Would you like to request an expedited decision?"

A few years ago when we took a tour of UCF with S, the admissions person who spoke talked about what I think was an expedited decision. Essentially, if you really wanted a decision you’d better be an exceptional student because if you were a “bubble” student that they were either waiting to see if your standardized test scores improved, or your semester grades, or they were waiting to just plain see how many slots were going to be available after everyone started making decisions about schools, you could find yourself with a “no” answer instead of wait and see. I’m not sure if this is exactly what your email response alluded to … but it would be my guess. He was very clear … if you pushed them to make a decision and you were a bubble students, you could easily find yourself turned down. He also said that if you are a bubble student and didn’t push them, it didn’t mean you might still eventually be turned down. Depended on a lot of factors I mentioned above…

Thanks for replying. That’s what I figured… I’ll be patient and wait for a decision.
