Experience with BUS-X272 scholarships?

Well, let’s set aside the fact that the state of the pandemic and international travel one year from now are pretty iffy things to bet on.

The experiences granted by BUS-X272 are impressive on paper, with chances to visit places like Switzerland and Japan. But, it’s expensive. $3-4000.

I’m curious if any alumni or juniors or seniors here can weigh in on the likelihood of getting scholarship funding for this class. The program page on Kelley’s website advertises that CIBER and the Hutton Honors College offer scholarships for the class, but I wonder how many people are awarded those scholarships, and what percentage of the program fee they cover. I just can’t afford to drop 4k on a week trip, especially in this day and age, and the dates for award notifications for these scholarships are really close to or even past the finalization date for enrolling in X-272.

Hey CEDEotE,

If your question doesn’t get answered soon I would point you towards the IU reddit page. Current students tend to linger around there more and they could probably answer your question.

Not sure about scholarships specifically for Bus-X272, but I do know my DS got two scholarships for his semester abroad. I believe he told me that you are only eligible for one travel abroad scholarship through Kelley so he waited until the full semester abroad opportunity to apply for it. FYI- between the Kelley scholarship and a second abroad scholarship he got from Hutton the semester abroad cost less than any other semester at IU. (We are OOS)
