Exploring UCI Question

I was wondering about what I should do before visiting UCI. I'm planning to go on the 19th with my parents, but on the admissions page, they asked for people to RSVP to explore UCI? Unfortunately, they didn't have room on the 19th, but is it still possible to go and take a campus and housing tour?

good question. i would like to know the same. i srsly thought i was headed for davis but after going to destination irvine and talking to ppl, i decided i wanna check irvine out.

when i tried to register for the 19th, it was full. what should i do? my parents really want to go to the campus and tour the place before really deciding.

my parents and i just want to go through the housing and campus tours, so i was wondering if those tours are different than the Explore UCI event? if so, how would go about scheduling those tours?

If you don't register it really isn't a big deal. The only thing you'll be missing out on is the bag of stuff with brochures and UCI merchandise they give you when you check in. If you want to go and it's full, just show up and don't check in and walk right in to where it's being held.

Thanks nschuchert, that was very helpful.

Ooooh UCI merchandise eh? Haha, good thing I registered for Explore UCI!

Actually, I went to explore uci today and all you get is a plastic bag to put in brochures and stuff. Nothing exciting, lol. And to confirm, if you really want to go but haven't registered, it's no big deal to just walk in.

sweet! thanks for the info, too bad i don't get the bag =(

Nah, don't worry about it. It's just a really cheap plastic bag from the UCI bookstore. lol.

BTW, it might help if you think of good questions because during the tours you get to talk to the tour guides, who are like 2nd or 3rd yr students and can give you a student's perspective.

anyone going next tuesday or wednesday? i wanna ditch school..

What did you guys do there? Just a campus tour, or are there information sessions?

yeah i called uci today and asked about not registering. they just said its fine to walk right in. they'll include you in the campus and housing tours, which is probably the most important of the entire thing.

go on the 19th, its Wayzgooze festival, there will be tons of people there (contrary to normal weekends at the uci campus :P )

there will be live music, booths, food, and a whole lotta fun...

woo... sounds fun =)
