So tomorrow I'm going to Discover UCI and I was wondering if it's really worth my time. The only thing I'm really interested in is the housing tour since I've already seen the campus. Are the sessions informative? Does parking suck? Hahaha if someone could describe their experience that would be great.

Also, is there any sort of confirmation paper I need to print?

Even though I’m going to UCLA, I attended Discover UCI last week with my friend. I’d say that the housing tour was pretty informative, and they even let you take a glimpse into the rooms to get a good feel of where you’ll be spending most of your time on campus. Although I can’t remember many of the specifics, the people leading the housing tours give you useful information in regards to room preferences, life within the houses, dorm furniture, and the list really goes on from there. The academic sessions are informative as well; if you have any questions you’d like to ask about your specific major, be sure to come prepared as they will usually have enough time for a Q&A towards the end. Parking wasn’t too bad either. We came in half an hour late, and we were able to find plenty of open parking at the top of the parking complex (Discover UCI guests were directed to park on the top level anyway).

The entire event is really informal too, so you don’t need to print a confirmation paper. As a matter of fact, my friend and I walked into the first session we picked, which was the 2nd campus blitz, without having to talk with anyone. The only person we “checked in” with was this lady on a computer in the Student Center. Even then, I told her my name, and off I went with my friend to discover UCI!

I call for a huge meet with all the other CC people, would be pretty legit. I’m sure there would be some big surprises, but meh, might be interesting…

I’m sure we can get at leasstttt 10 of us, so it wouldn’t be that bad. But yeah, sounds awesome, seeing that this forum doesn’t have display images or anything either, would be nice to see some faces IRL. Well, either we do it really soon before midterms really start to happen, or after finals or something. Let’s make magic happen?

I just want to know whether we’re meeting up next year or something, and where we’re meeting too, since this forums is ■■■■■■■■ and I can’t just go about editing the first post over and over again (15 minute editing rule sucks)
