Extra stuff.. art slides, resume etc

I sent my resume along with my art slides…

Is it good to send a resume?

And what about art slides… does the art faculty review it…?

i sent a resume and a flute/harp cd... i think they'll probably have someone review it if you are borderline. (sorry about columbia, silver. is barnard your 1st choice now?)

thanks harpingchic, im alright tho.. :) doing good. no barnard's not my first choice.

"i think they'll probably have someone review it if you are borderline. " - what exactly do u mean by that?

not you specifically... for anyone... i can't imagine that if a kid had a 1600 and perfect ecs and everything that they would send an arts supplement for evaluation.

yeh i guess...?!?!

I'd guess that if you've stated that you want to study art and you send slides (but not to excess- within a reasonable limit) that they'd review it, particularly if you're on the border admissions-wise. I submitted a scene from a play that I wrote and am trying to get produced, and I included a paragraph detailing my creative writing work/accomplishments to date, but I didn't give them a formal resume. Worst case scenario, they won't review what you sent and you're no worse off than you would be had you not sent any supplementary materials. Best case scenario, they do and it helps.

did you get in leftyleftist?

I'll find out around April 1. I think I will, though...

Oh right ok.. Well I applied RD too..
I guess we just have to wait and see.

My D sent a dance resume with photos along with a 10-minute VHS tape as well as a French horn CD.

Last year, most schools accepting video wanted it on VHS; apparently more and more are cool with DVD, which is a lot easier to mail (and produce!).

TheDad: My Dalso applied to Barnard and sent a dance resume' with photos. She is planning to take a class in March (we were there in Oct for her interview but she was recovering from mono at the time). Hopefully she will be accepted and then will have more info from which to make her decision between UMich and Barnard.

Maybe they will be in school together!
