Hey guys.
I’m finishing up my first year at my community college and intend to transfer by Fall 2016. I really want to be admitted into UCSD as a structural engineer. When I start my UC application this coming Fall, my stats will look something like this:
Major: Structural Engineering
GPA: 3.75
IGETC: Completed by end of Spring 2016
Pre-requisites: Completed by end of Spring 2016
My question is, how does UCSD look at extracurricular activities for a transfer student? Having a desire to transfer within two years as an engineering major meant that I needed to take overbearing course loads every semester–even during the Summer. On top of that, I even went the extra mile to complete IGETC. My point is, it’s difficult for me to dedicate myself to extracurriculars and volunteering with a difficult semester schedule. It’s also difficult to find ECs and internships that fit my schedule.
Any help, advice, or past experiences would be greatly appreciated!
