Facebook!

So, facebook’s fun, yeah?

If you friended me, kindly tell me here, because I have no idea who one of you is (one of the people who friended me on July 4). Thanks!

rabo and others, are you sure you guys used the proper number for establishing your e-mail address.

I know a 9 digit number came on the bill, but I was a summer@Brown student last year, and the ID number they sent me is the same one I had on my ID last year. When you go to the website to activate your ID, it says "Need help finding your ID number?" and its a link and it shows you some pictures of the ID and points to what numbers to enter. The number I have is the ID number that appeared above the photo, and is meant to be used by summer students to activate Brown e-mail. It says for incoming students,

"For incoming students, your ID number is located in the upper left-hand corner of the green registration card in the packet of information sent by the Registrar's office in early July. The format is SISx##### (the letters SIS followed by a fourth letter and five numbers)."

The e-mail address i believe you have activated is one that will only last for the summer. Does anyone else have any info on what I'm talking about?

I used the one from the bill when I established mine last year, and it worked out fine.

I guess it would make sense to post your facebook profile links here. You can get it by going to My Account > Get AIM Profile link, and then just copying the URL inside the quotes.

Unfortunately, my account is still stuck on my Stanford email, so I have to wait it out until they get around to changing my school.

iwannabe_brown: The student ID on the invoice I just received started with 000, not SIS, and it seemed to work fine for me. I'm not sure about any summer policies though.

It seems pretty foolish to add anyone as a friend before you actually meet him, hence I'm not accepting any friend requests (for the most part).

LOL, amor, you'll be one of few who adopt that policy. Though I suppose it's better than the friend everyone (literally) policy that a few people had last year.

It's just weird getting 10 friend requests from people I've never talked to ever. It's like handing out my phone number to a random stranger on the street.
