FAFSA PIN for parent?

This is a stupid question but I'm not clear on whether or not the parent needs a unique pin for FAFSA. My D signed up for one last fall and I thought we were set. Am I wrong? Do I need to get one for myself too? If I do, am I hosed - in other words, is it too late to do so?

Your student needs their own PIN.

AND one parent also needs their own PIN. So as the parent, you need to get YOUR PIN.

It’s not too late to get one. Just do it right now.

Yes, you need your own PIN. No, it’s not too late. Go to [The PIN Web Site - Federal Student Aid](http://www.pin.ed.gov) & sign up for your PIN. Make up your own PIN and you will be able to sign the FAFSA with it in a day or so (sometimes it will process very quickly & allow you to sign sooner).

Ok, I just signed up. Thanks everyone!
