FAFSA Question

Hello, I finished my FAFSA on March 2nd but it turned out that I was not able to get my results because there was an error with the PIN. My parents also had not filled out their taxes yet. Also, when I filled this FAFSA out, I did not put UC Irvine on the list of schools and UC Irvine is the school I now plan to attend to. I have made corrections to the FAFSA now with everything correct, will I still be able to get the same potential benefits as if I had completed it correctly the first time and included UC Irvine on it?

On UC Irvine's important dates it says that the "Financial aid priority deadline" is May 1st although I am not sure what this means because it also says that the FAFSA was due march 2nd.

I am about ready to punch something right now because I entered invalid information for my parents' PIN and I have to wait a few days before I can send it. All these different numbers are ****ing me off and I'm about to erupt. So if anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

You missed the UC's deadline for FAFSA. They'll accept it late, but they may (or may not) reduce their aid available to you. Suggest you contact the UCI FinAid office and discuss with them.

You can do a FAFSA correction to include UCI on the list of schools.

Note too that the deadline to get your GPA verification to CalGrant was also March 2--- if you're applying for CalGrant.

Suggest you watch upcoming deadlines closely in the future-- this isn't the only one-- and try to get stuff well ahead of the deadline so you're not adversely impacted by unforeseen circumstances at the last moment. This is only the beginning of a life full of deadlines and commitments - get used to it.

Thanks for the response. I will contact UCI.

On UCI's Office of Financial Aid website it says "5/1/2008 - Financial aid priority deadline." I really hope this influences whether they reduce (or not) the aid.
