FAFSA: # students in college

Younger son and I are refilling the FAFSA form...he will be a college junior next year. Our older son (household dependent) has a reasonable chance at graduating with BS degree this June before the 2013/14 school year. If for some reason he is unable to enroll, complete, or pass some of his remaining classes, they won't be offered again until 2013/2014. We won't know the status until mid/late March.

So I am not exactly sure how to address the question about the number of people in household attending college for 2013/14. Is it best to be conservative (1 college student)?

I don’t know the answer - but have a similar question. I have one son starting in September and am filling out the FAFSA for him. I have a second son who didn’t finish and has one full semester and maybe 2 or 3 additional classes left. He is probably going back in September - but we are not sure. I don’t know if I should put 2 - since it is possible he will go back, or only the one definite that we know is going. Putting 2 obviously lowers our EFC but what happens if the one son decides not to go back after all?
